MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT

The job holder will be responsible for all aspects of financial reporting of the company including the monthly management accounts and weekly sales reporting to a variety of stakeholders. A key element of the role will be to suggest, implement and maintain the highest standards across all aspects of stock control in the constant pursuit of best practice in the use of the EPOS system in a multi-site retail environment including a single warehouse.

The job holder will ensure that all financial and operational controls are both maintained and improved upon across all areas of the business and will be expected to lead the introduction of Perpetual Stocktaking into the business

It is an exciting time for the company as it looks to upgrade its EPOS system and it is expected that the role holder will assume responsibility for the EPOS system in conjunction with the Financial Controller/Director from the outset and shortly after assume line responsibility for all aspects of the Purchase Ledger, Payroll and Cash teams.

The use of IT is an important aspect in the role and the candidate will need to articulate their extremely high standard of Microsoft Excel expertise (SQL Server skills are also desirable as is a working knowledge of Sage 200) with a personality to challenge the business in its day to day operation adopting a collaborative approach in problem identification and resolution is also important.

The ideal candidate will be in the final stages of the CIMA qualification looking for a fantastic opportunity to join a forward looking finance team striving to improve on all fronts in a successful and financially secure award winning family owned business with extremely exciting growth plans for the future.

GARDEN SUNDRIES SALES ASSISTANT - FULL TIME

Are you a professional, enthusiastic individual with proven retail skills?

The above position is required for our Garden Sundries Department until 10th June 2016.

The role will require you to be customer focused, friendly and approachable.

Your days of work will include working 4 days between Monday to Friday and alternate weekends.

Pets & Aquatics Sales Assistants - Weekends

We are looking for a Weekend Pets & Aquatics Sales Assistants to join us until July 2016. This position will require you to have good animal knowledge, excellent communication skills and great motivation. Previous retail experience will be an advantage. The role will involve heavy lifting as well as requiring you to work both in and outside. Holiday cover will also be required.

Key responsibilities & Skills:

• Sales opportunities are generated through interaction with customers, and use of animal knowledge and dry goods

• Assistance and advice on selection and care of animals

• Maintain a harmonious and cooperative relationship with staff, managers and third parties

• Ensures that stock is cared for appropriately

• Excellent standards of merchandising and housekeeping are established and maintained.

EVENTS & SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATOR - FULL TIME

An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone who has a passion for Events and Social Media, working with the Directors in our busy Marketing Office. You will arrange, organise and evaluate events and deliver Social Media advertising throughout the Garden Centres taking it to the next level.
The successful applicant will have previous experience and formal qualifications.
Shifts are varied which will include weekends when required, public holidays & some evening shifts.
In addition they will play an integral role and have the ability to work independently as well as supporting our Marketing team whilst remaining calm under pressure.

Key responsibilities & Skills:

Organise Promotional Activities and Events

• Organise photography, press releases, articles and other internal and external communications

• Update all social media to communicate and engage with customers.

• Assist with proofreading of work.

• Complete Administrative duties, including purchase orders

• Researching markets to identify opportunities for events

• Liaise with the Directors and Management team to ascertain their precise event requirements

• Producing detailed proposals for events (e.g. timelines, suppliers, legal obligations, staffing and budgets)

• Agreeing to, and manage budgets.

• Securing and booking a suitable venue or location.

• Ensuring insurance, legal, health and safety obligations are adhered to.

• Coordinating venue management, caterers, stand designers, contractors and equipment hire.

• Organising facilities for car parking, traffic control, security, first aid, hospitality and the media.

• Identifying and securing speakers or special guests.

• Planning room layouts and the entertainment programme, scheduling workshops and demonstrations.

• Coordinating staffing requirements and staff briefings.

• Selling sponsorship/stand/exhibition space to potential exhibitors/partners.

• Preparing delegate packs and papers.

• Liaising with marketing and PR colleagues to promote the event.

• Liaising with clients and designers to create a brand for the event and organising the production of tickets, posters, catalogues and sales brochures, plus social media coverage.

• Coordinating suppliers, handling client queries and troubleshooting on the day of the event to ensure that all runs smoothly.

• Overseeing the dismantling and removal of the event and clearing the venue efficiently.

• Post-event evaluation (including data entry and analysis and producing reports).

Adapt and deliver the social media strategy for the Company

• Review and approve Facebook/Instagram/Twitter/other content calendars.

• Advise and influence on social media advertising to meet strategy objectives.

• Work closely with management on brand guidelines and best practice, and monitoring pages regularly to ensure compliance.

• Report and analyse social media results for guidance on improving performance and brand alignment.

• Manage digital assets – uploading, organizing, and sharing.

• Coordinate, review and approval of locally adapted digital advertising.

• Partner with the Graphic Designer to localise digital assets.

• Manage scheduling process of blogger partnerships onto the global platform.

Customer Care

• Customer Service correspondence in respect of letters & emails received.

• Community engagement - Charities.

• Monitoring Customer Service levels.
