Summary

The Boscobel English Shrub Rose from David Austin Roses is sumptuous and bright. Its red buds open to beautifully formed, upward facing, coral-pink rosettes. Small petals of varying shades mingle to provide a most pleasing effect. The myrrh fragrance has delicious hints of hawthorn, elderflower, pear and almond. It forms an upright shrub. Boscobel House, for which this shrub was named, was built in 1632 and is now owned by English Heritage. During the English Civil War, Charles II hid there in an oak tree while being pursued by Cromwell's soldiers.

This rose is suitable for all soil types and prefers full sunlight. It is ideal for brightening up a mixed border, or celebrating in a rose border. Alternatively, it does well in pots and containers for a more mobile splash of colour and scent.

After approximately three years of annual pruning, the Boscobel will be about 110cm tall and 110cm wide, with a myrrh scent and large blooms. As a repeat flowerer, this bush will give you fragrant flushes of flowers from late spring to early winter.
