With a distinctive tangy flavour, rhubarb is a favourite for use in crumbles, tarts and preserves.
This early variety is ideal for forcing to produce long, slender, pink-tinged stalks. For a deeper, red-coloured stem, leave the stems of Rhubarb 'Champagne' unforced - they will still be just as sweet and delicious! This old variety is particularly reliable and easy to grow.
Rhubarb is ready to harvest in early spring, when little else is available, making it one of the most prized crops in the vegetable garden.
