An impressive variety, bearing masses of large, many petalled blooms on a bushy, quite upright shrub. The blooms are a lovely glowing mid pink at the centre, paling towards the edges. Over time, they each reveal a cluster of golden stamens. There is a medium-strong myrrh fragrance. The name was inspired by Samuel Taylor Coleridge's epic poem, The Rime of the Ancient Mariner from 1789. \u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003e Introduced in 2015, this rose is suitable for all soil types and thrives in partial or full sunlight. It is ideal for brightening up mixed borders or celebrating in rose borders and hedges. Versatile, the shrub also does well in pots and containers, for a more mobile splash of colour and scent. \u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003e After approximately three years of annual pruning, the Ancient Mariner will be about 125cm tall and 125cm wide, with a delicious myrrh scent and large blooms.
