Summary

The Queen of Sweden English Shrub Rose from David Austin Roses is graceful and bold. Its exquisite little buds open to half-enclosed cups, eventually becoming wide, shallow, upward-facing cups of pleasing formality. The colour begins as soft-apricot pink, gradually changing to pure soft pink over time. There is a lovely myrrh fragrance. It forms a bushy, yet upright shrub. The rose is named to commemorate the 350th anniversary of the Treaty of Friendship and Commerce between Queen Christina of Sweden and Oliver Cromwell of Great Britain in 1654.

Introduced in 2004, this rose is suitable for all soil types and thrives in partial or full sunlight. It is ideal for brightening up mixed borders or celebrating in rose hedges and borders. Versatile, the shrub also does well as cuttings, for a more mobile splash of colour and scent.

After approximately three years of annual pruning, the Queen of Sweden will be about 125cm tall and 90cm wide, with a delicious myrrh scent and medium blooms. As a repeat flowerer, this bush will give you fragrant flushes of flowers from late spring to early winter.
