Gooseberry (Ribes Uva-crispa) 'Hinnonmaki Red' 3L

Gooseberries are a staple of the British cottage garden. Harvest from July and enjoy them fresh, or cooked in tarts and preserves. When allowed to ripen fully on the plant, gooseberries are soft and sweet.

A reliable heavy cropper producing delicious red berries which are bursting with flavour. Traditional Gooseberry ‘Hinnonmaki Red’ is vigorous and shows good disease resistance, enabling it to provide a rewarding summer harvest.

Gooseberries can be grown in the ground or in a large container. Although usually grown as bushes, gooseberries can also be trained as single upright stems, as well as fans on walls or fences. This makes the fruit easier to pick from the thorny stems.
