Blackcurrants have a delicious tart flavour and are loaded with vitamin C. Eat them fresh off the bush or use them in pies, cordials and jams.
This neat, compact variety produces enormous yields of glossy blackcurrants with a superb flavour. Bred by the Scottish Crop Research Institute, Blackcurrant ‘Ben Sarek’ produces such large crops its branches may need support just prior to picking time.
They are easy to grow, bearing masses of dark purple to black fruits in mid-summer. Blackcurrants can be grown in open soil, or in containers.
