Gooseberry (Ribes Uva-crispa) 'Hinnonmaki Green' 3L

Gooseberries are a staple of the British cottage garden. Harvest from July and enjoy them fresh, or cooked in tarts and preserves. When allowed to ripen fully on the plant, gooseberries are soft and sweet.

Bred in Finland, this superb variety is exceptionally hardy. Gooseberry ‘Hinnonmaki Green’ is a vigorous variety with good disease resistance, even to mildew. The fruits are plump and borne in abundance with a delicious flavour. This neat, compact, and self-fertile fruit bush is ideal for those with smaller gardens or where space is at a premium.

Gooseberries can be grown in the ground or in a large container. Although usually grown as bushes, gooseberries can also be trained as single upright stems, as well as fans on walls or fences. This makes the fruit easier to pick from the thorny stems.
